Within the legions there is always a need for heavy infantry. Myrmidon squads are heavily armoured to resist small arms fire. They are the elite from within the legions. Every legion has a dedicated Myrmidon Centuria full of the veterans drawn from the other Centuri. Equipped with the best weapons, they are used whereever a hard core elite force is required to crack open a stubborn defence, be it establishing a beachhead or storming a fortified building.
