The Legions never fully accepted the Hoplon APC as combat vehicles, using them mainly behind the lines or for ordnance issues. Instead the legions prefer to use the Gladius IFV which is a smaller, faster, more heavily armed and armoured vehicle equipped with either twin linked M607 Light Repeating Lasers, or the M27 Grenade Launcher with a variety of ammunition. Variations can also be equipped with flechette blisters, electrified hulls or gas emitters for battling at close quarter’s against an infantry assault. With all these enhancements it comes as no surprise that the Gladius can only carry five men in extremely cramped conditions.
